Transforming the Lives of Florida’s Women & Girls Through a Collective Philanthropic Voice

Women's Funds

Florida Philanthropic Network is pleased to announce and welcome our newest member affinity group, the Florida Women’s Funding Alliance. The Alliance seeks to transform the lives of women and girls through FPN members’ collective voice and resources.

The Florida Women’s Funding Alliance is meeting the needs of our members who share an interest in catalyzing and strengthening women’s philanthropy to improve the lives of women and girls in our state. From my view, the Florida Women’s Funding Alliance is a great example of how FPN works to bring funders together to increase the effectiveness and impact of philanthropy for the greater good in Florida.

“We envision a Florida where women and girls thrive,” said Julie Fisher Cummings, Founder and Chairman of the Lovelight Foundation; who is the Alliance’s Founding Co-Chair, along with Brenda Tate, President of the Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida. “We welcome all FPN members to join us in our work to realize this vision.”

The Alliance grew out of a meeting at FPN’s 2015 Statewide Summit on Philanthropy earlier this year – so many great things have started at our Summit!  The group will convene, connect, educate, leverage and elevate Florida’s women’s funders in order to elevate and empower leadership, expertise and investments in women’s issues. Alliance participants include, but are not limited to, corporations, foundations, funds, donor advised funds, and individual donors among FPN’s membership who share an interest in supporting women and girls in Florida.

Founding members of the Alliance are the Community Foundation of Collier County and its Women’s Initiative Network, The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida and its Women’s Giving Alliance, the Community Foundation Ocala Marion County, The Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches, the Lovelight Foundation, the Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida, the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County and The Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade.
